Hello,
My names James Turner, and im 19 from leatherhead. I came across surrey mini-moto on the net. Ive really been wanting to get into motorsport since i was a wee lad, but never had the money or the time to actually get out there, i originally really wanted to do motocross, but as i passed my motorcycle test, i have moved onto superbikes and i currently own a Honda VFR 400RR (NC30), well baby superbikes! lol
The reason im so interested in mini motos and not full size motorbike racing is becasue originally i wanted to get into the full size sport, but with having no track experience and not being able to do a track day because of my restricted licence and being a student with no money, or very little has made me think that i need to scale things down! plus this sport just looks like so much fun!! my mate a year ago had a mini moto, had a lil go and i absolutely loved it, but didnt get one as i there was no legal place to ride it!
Now that ive came across this place and i really want to get into it with a passion! Ive got a few questions, should i just come down to one of the sessions and have a mill about, or do i need a membership first, or should i contact someone beforehand?
Also in terms of what bike i should i get, iv been doing some research, and came across two sorts of bikes, air cooled and water cooled, what would be a better option to start out with? Also as im a student, money isnt exactly the easiest thing to get hold of, but if i need to, i will! lol im tempted to get a CAG i think, the cheaper mini motos? but then again, i came across a blata elite 4.2hp, looks fab and probably would last a lot longer, i know its expensive but is this a better option than the cheaper one for a 1st timer?
I hope i havent got too many questions, im an inquisitive lad you see
Hope to hear some friendly advice on what i should do and how to get started,
Many thanks,
James. |
